What Does GreenPath Financial Do?
GreenPath Financial Wellness is a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to offering financial counseling, education, and solutions to empower individuals to lead financially healthy lives. Since 1961, GreenPath has directly assisted millions of people with debt and credit management, homeownership education, and foreclosure prevention.
Headquartered in Michigan, just like FAFCU, GreenPath, along with its affiliates, operates multiple locations across the United States. GreenPath is a proud member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and holds accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA).

Free Debt Counseling
GreenPath offers free credit counseling and debt counseling to help ease your financial stress, address your financial concerns, and develop a plan for living a financially healthy life.
Debt Management Plan
Debt management plans are designed to make your debt manageable while helping you develop sound financial literacy. Through a debt management plan, you will make payments on your original debt, working to improve your credit score in the long run.
Student Loan Counseling
Student loan payments resumed in October 2023, with interest starting to accrue in September 2023. If you are unsure what your next steps are, take advantage of the free student loan resources available from GreenPath.
Credit Report Review
Regularly monitoring your credit can alert you to errors, protect you from fraud, and provide you important information to strengthen your credit score. GreenPath LearningLab+ A1 Credit Tool is a great resource for anyone looking to know more about credit scores and how to improve those scores.
Homebuyer Counseling
Do you have questions about housing? Should you buy a home? Refinance your house? What if you can’t make your mortgage payments? Or your credit isn’t great? Or perhaps, you’re trying to stay in your home? GreenPath’s Homebuyer counseling can with foreclosure prevention, buying a home, reverse mortgage counseling and more.
Resources for Renters
GreenPath’s professional, caring counselors will work with you to assess your situation, explain the options or solutions available, and help you create a detailed action plan. You will get referrals to local, statewide, and national resources.
