Health Saving Account (HSA)
An HSA is a type of savings account that lets you set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for qualified medical expenses. By using untaxed dollars in an HSA to pay for deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and some other expenses, you may be able to lower your overall health care costs.
With an HSA account. members have access to a debit card, but cannot order checks. There cannot be a Joint ownert, but anyone in the family plan can have a debit card that is tied to the HSA account .
- You can contribute up to $4150 for individual coverage and $8300 for family coverage annually.
- HSA funds roll over from year-to-year if the savings is not used.
- HSA savings accounts earn interest.
