Multi-Factor Authentication

Your Security is Our Priority! MFA is Coming Soon.

Starting March 31st, Forest Area Federal Credit Union will implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in our online banking and mobile app. This added security measure will help safeguard your account from unauthorized access, ensuring a more secure online banking experience. MFA is an essential step in protecting our members from fraud and cyber threats.

What is MFA?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an advanced security feature that requires two or more verification steps to log in. This typically includes:

  • Something you know (your password)
  • Something you have (a one-time code sent to your phone or email)

Why is MFA Important?

Cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated, and relying solely on passwords is no longer enough. MFA strengthens security by requiring additional identity verification, such as a one-time code or biometric authentication. For financial institutions, MFA is crucial in preventing unauthorized access, fraud, and data breaches, giving you greater peace of mind. By implementing MFA, Forest Area Federal Credit Union is taking proactive steps to protect your sensitive financial information.

How Will This Affect You?

Once MFA is activated, you will see two verification screens when logging into online banking:

  • Device Registration & Contact Selection: You will choose an email or phone number to receive your one-time passcode.
  • Verification Code Entry: You will enter the code sent to your selected contact method.

If you choose to register your device, you will not be required to complete MFA again until the designated number of days has passed.

What You Need to Do Next

Prepare for MFA by ensuring your contact information is up to date! You can update your phone number and email under your profile in our online banking or mobile app on Apple or Android devices. This simple step will help prevent login issues once MFA goes live.

Thank you for partnering with us to enhance account security. We are committed to protecting our members and continuously improving fraud prevention measures.
